SECTION 1
THE
ORDER
OF
THE
EASTERN
STAR
The Order of the Eastern Star
is the world largest fraternal
organization that both men and
women can join.
It is based on teachings from the
Bible, but is open to people of
all monotheistic faiths.
It has approximately 10,000 chapters
in twenty countries and approximately
one million members under its General
Grand Chapter.
Members of the Order are aged 18 and
older; men must be Master Masons and
women must have specific relationships
with Masons.
Originally, a woman would have to be
the daughter, widow, wife, sister, or
mother of a master Mason, but the Order
now allows other relatives as well as
allowing Rainbow Girls to become members
when they come of age.

JOB'S
DAUGHTERS
INTERNATIONAL
Job's Daughters International:
Sometimes abbreviated to JDI,
known throughout the world
simply as Job's Daughters, is
a Masonic sponsored youth
organization for girls aged 10
to 20 who are related to a
Master Mason.
It is the oldest of five Masonic
sponsored organizations for girls,
dating from 1920.
The individual chapter is called a
Bethel, and each is numbered
sequentially according to when they
were instituted in their jurisdiction.
They usually meet at a Masonic Lodge
building and when they are in session
they refer to the meeting place as the
Bethel.

SECTION 6
THE
ORGANIZATION
OF
THE
TRIANGLES
The Organization of the Triangles
is a Masonic Youth Organization
based in the American state of
New York.
The Organization was founded by
Rose E. Scherer in 1927 under
the name Daughters of Eastern
Star, which was later changed
to its current name in 1961.
Scherer had originally conceived
the idea of an organization for
young woman based on the teaching
of The Order of the Eastern Star
when she was Grand Matron of New
York in 1925.
Several individual clubs were
started throughout New York
within that same year and each
were considered 'Chapters'.
By 1927, Triangles was
officially organized.

SECTION 7
ORDER
OF
THE
AMARANTH
Order of the Amaranth is a
Masonic-affiliated organization.
It is similar to the Order of the
Eastern Star in many ways. In fact,
at one time Amaranth was to Eastern
Star what Master Mason is to Fellow
Craft/Entered Apprentice in a Masonic
Lodge, but in 1921 this relationship
ceased.
Like Eastern Star, members of the Order
must be age 18 and older, men must be
Master Masons and women must have
specific relationships with Masons.
These relationships are: Wives, Mothers,
Daughters, Granddaughters, Step-daughters,
Legally adopted daughters, Widows, Sisters,
Half-sisters, Nieces, Grand nieces, ,Aunts,
Great-granddaughters, Grandmothers, or have
been active members of the International
Order of Rainbow for Girls or the
International Order of Jobs Daughters for
more than 3 years and come recommended by
a Master Mason.

FREEMASONRY
Freemasonry is a fraternal organization
whose membership has shared moral and
metaphysical ideals and — in most of
its branches — requires a constitutional
declaration of belief in a Supreme Being.
The fraternity uses the metaphor of the
operative stonemasons' tools and implements,
against the allegorical backdrop of the
building of the Temple of King Solomon, to
convey what is most generally defined as
"a system of morality veiled in allegory
and illustrated by symbols.

SECTION 9
CATECHISM
Catechesis is an elementary form of
religious instruction, typically oral,
and traditionally under the guidance
of a parent, a pastor or a priest, a
religious teacher, or other individuals
in church roles (including a deacon,
religious brother or sister, or nun)
who poses set questions and prompts
students (or disciples) toward
understanding the answers given.
Catechetics is the practice of this
kind of instruction, or the study of
it, including training in such
instruction.
Catechisms have, historically,
typically followed a dialogue
or question-and-answer format.
This format calls upon two parties
to participate, a master and a
student (traditionally termed a
"scholar"), a parent and a child.
CATECHIST:
A catechist is one who engages
in such religious instruction.
