Misogyny is the hatred or dislike of women or girls.
Misogyny can be manifested in numerous ways, including
sexual discrimination, denigration of women, violence
against women, and sexual objectification of women.
Misogyny has been characterised as a prominent feature
of the mythologies of the ancient world as well as of
various religions. In addition, many influential
Western philosophers have been described as misogynistic.
The counterpart of misogyny is misandry, the hatred or
dislike of men; the antonym of misogyny is philogyny,
the love or fondness of women.

is someone who holds such views or feelings. The condition is

Misandry is the hatred, dislike, contempt for or ingrained
prejudice against men and/or boys. Misandry can be manifested
in numerous ways that have their parallel in misogyny
including sexual discrimination, denigration of men, violence
against men, and sexual objectification of men. Warren Farrell
has written of how men are uniquely marginalized in what he
calls their "disposability," the manner in which the most
dangerous of societies' jobs throughout history, particularly
soldiering, have been performed by men. The female counterpart
of misandry is misogyny, the hatred or dislike of women; the
antonym of misandry is philandry, the love or fondness of men.

Definition: Misogyny means the hatred of women. The word comes
from the Greek misein, to hate and gyne, woman. Misogyny is often
used to describe contempt for women as a whole, rather than hatred
of specific women.
In feminist theory, misogyny often describes an attitude that is
perceived to be negative and demeaning toward women as a group.
While it is rare to find someone who actually despises all women
just because they are female, feminists more commonly observe
prejudice against women or an assumption that women are less
deserving than men. This usually leads to actions that harm women.
People, usually men, who display hateful behaviors that oppress
women are said to be misogynists.

Transmisogynoir (or trans-misogynoir) is the oppression of trans women of color,
and trans feminine people of color, more generally. It exists at the intersection
between transphobia, misogyny, and antiblackness. This oppressive force is caused
by a combination of cisnormativity, the gender binary, white supremacy, and other
kyriarchal forces. Importantly, cis Whiteness, a chiefly Western concept, is at
the root of this form of transmisogynoir.
