TIP:
Add more organic matter to improve
water-holdingcapacity,but insure good
drainage.A pinch of CHARCOAL, will
keep soil from becoming sour.
TIP:
A soil mix of one-third soil,one-third peat moss,
and one-third mix of equal parts sand,charcoal,
and coarse sand.Add one teaspoon of lime, per
quart of potting mix.
TIP:
Mist BROAD-LEAVED foliage ferns, BUT NOT
the fluffy or fine foliage ferns, EXCEPT for
seasonal cleaning.
Most ferns need at least thirty percent humidity,
but do best in forty to fifty percent.This in a
temperature not over seventytwo degrees, and
out of drafts.
TIP:
Use mist trays, saucers half-filled with small
gravel.Keep water level below grave line so plants
is not standing in water.Clean every two to three
months so they will not develop fungus or diseases.
TIP:
Use one-quarter recommended strength fertilizer,
NEVER FERTILIZE when soil is dry, water first.
